The updated information regarding the bachelor of science degree program is now available online. Go to nursing.boisestate.edu, then click on "Future Students", then "Undergraduate Program", then "Admission Criteria" and you'll be there.
The undergraduate nursing program is structured around three key concepts: community based nursing, leadership and professional values with an emphasis on wellness, health promotion, disease prevention and treatment and cultural diversity. Students are eligible to license as a registered nurse upon completion of a bachelor's degree.
Application checklist:
- Complete and return a nursing application form by March 1, 2008.
- Enclose a Copy of your unofficial academic transcript as requested on your application.
- Enclose an application processing fee of $20.00 in the form of a money order (made out to Boise State University ). No other form of payment will be accepted. This fee is non-refundable and your application will not be processed without it.
- Before applying, students must have successfully completed the following courses with a C (not C-) or better. Students cannot be enrolled in these courses during the semester they are applying to the Boise State University Nursing Program.
- BIOL 227 & 228
- CHEM 105 or equivalent
- COMM 101 or 112
- ENG 101 &102
- MATH 143 or higher
- PSYCH 101
*NOTE: Admission to the Nursing Program at Boise State will be based on a GPA from BIOL 227 & 228, CHEM 105 or equivalent, and MATH 143 or higher. GPA will be rank ordered. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required in these courses to apply for admission.
